I recommend you Google "cryogenic treatment" and read some articles on it. It's not just about tubes, it's mainly about carbon steel which tube structures have. Some people feel it does things to other materials beneficially, but it seems carbon steel is the most researched.

It is a deep cooling/re-warming thing that is done at steel's solid phase only. That makes it strange to people that it does anything, and me too at first. Automobile parts for racing are often cryogenically treated for better smoothness (lower friction) and strength of the structure of steel by working on microscopic roughness of some material in there.

But do your own research. It's probably here to stay for those who will pay for the ultimate carbon steel parts.
