DC or harmonic distortion on the AC power line can cause the toroidal transformer in an amp to buzz. That may be what is happening in your case. Possible sources are motors, hair dryers, fluorescent light ballasts, certain speed controllers, halogen lights, and light dimmers, to name some popular ones.
Try shutting off these devices if you have any in the home and see if the buzzing in the amp goes away. It is also possible that the source of DC/distortion could be coming from the home of a neighbor whose is on the same utility company transformer as you. If that should turn out to be the case, there are DC blocking solutions available.
