Hi,

My friend owns a VTL 225 that is running KT90's that are near the end of their lives. They were the prized first generation EI KT90's. Knowing that the current crop are not as good, I thought he should switch to Svetlana 6550's if this wouldn't damage the amps.
I emailed VTL and received no response (if anyone has their phone number
it would be helpful). The question I have is whether the stock KT90's can be safely subbed with 6550's or KT88's etc. Thanks.
