Before purchasing the Analysis Audio Amphitryons, thinking I could save a whole lot of $$$$ by buying a mint pair of Apogee Divas, I Auditioned the Divas extensively. I flew out to Reno Nevada and listened to a mint pair of Divas at a gentlemans home who had a wonderful set-up. The Divas sounded just wonderful. Well, it was impossible to A/B the Divas and the Amphitryons in the same location. Based on memory alone, and without going into details of their sonic differences, I felt that the newer technology and materials of the Analysis speakers made a significant enough difference in the overall sound quality to justify buying the Amphitryons. I was absolutely prepared to purchase the Divas and never look back if $$$$ had been an issue. IMHO, the Analysis line of speakers slightly betters the old Apogee line in at least a couple areas. Only the individual can determine whether or not these slight improvements are worth the extra $$$$ for the Analysis speakers. I'll tell you what though....I'm one happy camper.
