RE: Manley Labs Neo-Classic 500's

I have a pair of the wonderful Analysis Audio Amphitryon full range ribbon speakers. Based on my experience, these speakers need a minimum of over 200wpc of tube power in order to achieve full bass extension. I previously drove the speakers with a Rogue Audio Zeus dual mono amp. The 225wpc, in ultra-linear mode, that the Zeus offers drove my speakers quite nicely. However, the true sonic magic of the Zeus amp lays in it's 150wpc triode mode. BINGO!!!.....I discovered that triode sound, with my speakers, was the ticket to sonic heaven. Unfortunately, the Zeus just didn't offer enough triode horse-power to drive my speakers to the levels that I desired. I now realized that I needed more triode power. That's were the Manley Neo-Classic 500's came in. I switched out the tubes to my favorites, the KT-88's. And now, I get 275wpc of glorious, sweet, dynamic, airy, extended, lush, transparent and detailed, triode "HEAVEN." My speakers never sounded better. IMHO, The Manley Labs Neo-Classic 500 Monoblocks sonics are amongst the very best in reference level amplification. And they look really great as well.
