Hello,
they are rated at 92 dB but impedance is supposed to be in 4 ohms area. The manual suggests 200W/4ohm...My amp is 140W/4ohm (Atoll AM100)..I never go higer than 10AM...
Would I get a significant improvement with something more powerfull...Suggestions ??

Olivier,I owned the Kef 105.3 for about 2 years and have driven it successfully and may I say musically with a Plinius integrated
amp (8150). If you like the Plinius 'house sound',I'm sure such an amp, or even the latest 8200mk2 would be an excellent and musical match with your 104's. The Kef Reference series are generally easy to drive speakers in one sense but they would need a good high current amp to get the best control and authority from them. It's not really a matter of Watts but more of Amperes and a beefy power supply.Hope that helps..
My father-in-law has the KEF 104/2's in a 2 channel setup, and just bought a Mac 162 about 3 months ago. We were hanging out listening to it a few nights ago, and I must say, I was floored! He replaced a Perreaux amp with the Mac, and the midrange became more 'liquid' and more believable, with the lows and highs staying the same.
Use Ref 3 before, got good results with Classe amps. KEF bass driver is hard to control, need stable powerful amp to drive it well. Bryston are also recommended by my friend.
