I've received the same comment. I think its due to the Maggie's size which makes an unknowing visitor assume that they'd be used in a really large room like a theater. And then there's the reasoning ( .......

I used my Tympani 1-D's with home theater and they were the best home theater speakers I've ever heard. Realism does an awful lot for home theater and the 1-D's had the slam to go loud and noisy when .......

I had excellent luck with NAD home theater equipment. They tend towards warmth which is great for maggies. The other thing I loved about my NAD T750 was that it seemed to be designed for music as well .......

It all comes down to how much you plan to spend. If you get the MMGs for $550, you still need a sub, a center and 2 surrounds. Not just any sub but one that blends well with the MMGs - try Audio Conc .......

The sweet spot of the LFT-VIIIa is similar in size to the MG-1.6. Others have expressed the view that the sweet spot is small with dipole speakers, but that is not my experience with these speakers. B .......

2 channel soundstage was never very good to begin with due to speaker placement constraints. The width of the room is 17' and the width of the screen is 141" which forces the speakers too far apart an .......
