How about the Beyma 6P200Fe, it is a 6.5 inch but Qes=.27. It has very nice response, impedance and distortion curves for the midrange band. Sensitivity is only 93dB though. .......

The best horn tweeters I have had are the Beyma TPL-150H which I currently use, and the vintage Fostex T825 horn tweeters. Both sound far more natural and relaxed than the compression driver/horn comb .......

Clive, If you are considering the Beyma, a few observations. I modelled it in the standard LabSub, and compared to the Lab12 the Beyma will have a little more low end ripple, a few hertz less low exte .......

Any of 900 series or the 90, IMHO, is better than the EV. I also liked the Beyma CP25 better. The Beyma is a very popular upgrade on the Klipsch forum. CHeers. .......

This is a new driver that looks pretty good, around $200. Keep in mind the horn curve is with a 1.2Khz horn, the JBL 2344 is good to 800hz. .......

As this speakers have to work 30 off axis I don't think it can be done with two ways due to beaming issues. Even the Beyma AMT would get problems in the top octave. A high sensitivity 2" dome or plan .......

Rated response on a PA spec sheet is not actual response. The TAD 4001 is not rated to 500hz either, the spec sheet says 600hz. http://tad-labs.com/en/professional/unitspeaker/unit2.html A Beyma CP750 .......

Have a look at the Beyma T2030 in the Studio Series. Looks good. They also make a soft dome with horn loading in the SMC 2012 with more bandwidth. Neo magnet. Little peak centered ~1.7K Hz, but smooth .......

If you need the efficiency and are OK with the 80-700hz bandwidth which is about as good as I've seen posted for a midbass horn. Then go with Bills design. Otherwise the Beyma 18 is good from mid\uppe .......

Scott, The Beyma unit looks very good as a DR mid from say 200-3000, with a nice rolloff after that. Simplifies the crossover. If not too many pesos, you could always try them first as direct radiator .......
