The SB3's and SF1's use the same tweeter. Its a horn loaded aluminum dome. All of the 'S'(Synergy Series) speakers use this tweeter. The 'R' (Reference Series) uses a horn loaded titanium dome - I am .......

Don't give up on your horns yet. Klipsch can sound great - and Klipsch can sound harsh. 1st order of business, get some rope caulk down at the hardware store and put it all over the outside of the hor .......

YOU MUST check out the Klipsch RB5's then Perfect for tube/set. They sound MUCH better than Heresey's and they can be had for less than $700 a pair. Heresies: Metal horn and 12" paper woofer, cheap x- .......

Klipsch makes several 2-way speakers with 15" woofers and compression driver treble. You're not talking about the K-horn, the Belle Klipsch, the Heresy, nor the LaScala as all of them are three ways .......

You did not mention what exactly is rattling. I know of other Klipsch owners who have glued their speakers back together. Evidently this is a common problem on older Klipschs. You might also try Parts .......

I cannot give you a comparison, but I can say that Klipsch and NAD generally mate very well. If the T770 is similar to the C740, then it will be relatively soft in the upper frequencies and compliment .......

It all depends on what you mean by "affordable", and what you mean by "horn speakers". The most affordable "horn" speakers are the hybrids. For a couple thousand $$$, try to find a used pair of Altec .......

Many older Klipsch speakers IMO ARE harsh. Many have a resonant peak at 9khz from the Atlas mid driver (not present in those using EV mid drivers and not present in all Atlas drivers) and the mid horn .......

You would probably defeat the purpose of the klipsch by building speakers using their drivers-unless you build horn loaded cabinets and really good crossovers. Klipsch are more than just good drivers. .......

from the Dimension, Definition, or Prestige ranges have efficiency of about 93db. They sound big and warm and yet are far more accurate both in terms of phasing and tonality IMO than other horn loaded .......

The Magnavox/Jensen stuff is fine too, but usually more money and of unknown reliability. Frazier used a lot of CTS cone drivers, but I don't think CTS made any horn stuff at that time. Most of the sm .......
