Only real difference I see is that the 6N6P-I draws 900ma of heater current, where the 6N6P draws 750ma. If you can supply the extra heater current, you should be fine. I'd be interested if you'd post .......

Which one is better, 6H30 or 6N6P, is a matter of big debate. Some swear the one is superior, others swear the other. 6H30 are not easy to come by, hence the price. Anything more than $10 for 6N6P (sh .......

my little dot MK11 used both the 6n6P and the 6H30 and I felt the super tube was best so in some circuits it worked. My amp when I had it would not use 6922. Check with the manufacture and it may work .......

You could probably stick a Russian 6N6P in there. I've run both in my DIY line stage. The 6N6P is a higher Mu tube and in my line stage gave ~3dB more gain. On the other hand there was less "headroom" .......

To try and minimize confusion, the 6H6c is the same tube as the 6N6P, the difference is the Cyrillic alphabet vs the western alphabet. The same with the 6N3C-E, it is the same as the 6P3S-E. If search .......

you can try. It has a higher heater current (750), where as the 6N1P has a 600 heater current. If the designer of your gear has a good power supply to take a bit more current, it might be worth a try. .......

IMO Soundek is correct, the ev suffix Voskhods, made before the Gorbachev era, are the best (early 70s vintage are the cream). BTW, a good pre-80s 6N6P makes a very fine driver for that PP EL84 amp. V .......

my small experience with the 6N6P I have found two plants - Novosibirsk and Saratov. I haven't heard a _big_ difference between the two. The Saratovs were old (old logo style) and perhaps were a touch .......

It is a nice tube, positioned in between the 6922 and the 6H30 types. Electrically the circuits designed for the 6N6P tube should not have any issues using the -I version, but I have not tried that. T .......

Personally I would not even bother getting the voltage down 0.1 volt. Heater voltage of 6.7V is well within specs for these tubes. .......

While the mu is the same, that's pretty much where the similarity ends. Filaments are different, max voltage and dissipation are different. There is also a screening shield on the 6n6 that's not there .......

I have an amp which allegedly uses 6cg7's - they are rebadged with the manufacturers name. I have EH and EI 6cg7's and this tube neither looks like them nor sounds like them. The obvious difference is .......

I got some New Sensor ressiue Tung-Sol 6SN7 marked 07 03 ( Year Month or week presume). The perfom excellent and are well matched and provide less distorion than any other 6SN7 I have( 10-12 different .......

One I left out was the 6N23P-ev (somewhat hard to find and can be pricey), which is a direct sub for the 6922. The ones made in the early 70's are the best, I've heard bad things about the later produ .......
