sound taste aside, the distortion measurments are much better on the revox than the teac machines. teac made a lousy transport, i always though but properly aligned they can sound okay. A lot of revox .......

My Revox came with a Revox cart but that was back in the 1980's. You can remove the "swing arm" cover by gently spreading the bottom of the cover and lifting it off. Otherwise brand and some kind of m .......

Actually, the turntable is not bad at all. It is direct drive and therefore more noisy than belt drive, but it's certainly a good sounding turntable. I also own Linn LP12 with Syrinx and Clearaudio Ev .......

The better servo linear tracking tables, when I sold audio, were made by Yamaha, Sony, Revox and B&0. Pioneer also had a good one that was also sold, relabeled as Phase Linear 800. You never know wha .......

I agree with hagustos on all points. It's a decent table but you would need to use the Shure M97xE on it. The tables arm was designed specifically for the Shure V15VxMR. Anything else is a compromise .......

I saw one once, but never heard one. Seems to be fairly robust though once you learn how to set it up. As far as cartridges go, it's hard to recommend one. We all seem to look for different strengths .......

John, My Revox machines are in mint condition I spent a lot of money to have them reconditioned (heads relapped, etc.) and adjusted for Quantry 456 tape. They sound good, but a well adjusted Teac X100 .......

Hi Dave, The Teac X-1000 had hyperbolic heads that really accentuated the low-frequency head bumps. They were emphasized even more with dbx noise reduction. All the tapes I made with dbx had very boom .......

You will get better sonics from the Yamaha. The Revox is finicky about cartridges, it's arm/carrier has some funky resonances (function of the housing and the way the arm is attached.) The PX3 isn't a .......

Perhaps you are referring to half-track 15-ips reel-to-reel tape recorders when you talk about analog tape sounding better than digital. If this is the case, then you need to hear high-resolution 24/9 .......

yeah, years of working in studios... teac stuff just doesnt hold up like the revox. It will kind of run forever but the parts are a lot cheaper and need replacing more often. the fine bias alignments .......
