OK. Zerodust is not the same material as Extremephono SSSC but it works in the same way. I don't have Zerodust but I 'm quite in doubt about the fact of rinsing the Zerodust with water in order to cle .......

Extremephono makes one for like $25. Zerodust used to cost $70ish, but are down to $55 (see Agon ad). The guy who was selling these cheaper ($30) ran out and got tired of selling as he was really in i .......

The Extremephono cleaner sounds very interesting for 19.95, and the Enjoythemusic guy says it seems even better than Zerodust. Extremephono is also marketing a mat made out of a material I seem to rec .......

I've not used the ZeroDust product (couldn't see spending the money), but ExtremePhono has what appears to be pretty much the same thing for about $20. I've used that product extensively and love it - .......

....I now use Extremephono's Solid-State Stylus Cleaner which seems to be a very similar to Zerodust but 1/3 the price. Its quick, safe and works very well - doesn't attract dust to the stylus at all .......

I've been used a Zerodust for a number of years, and still works great. That thing doesn't spill, chip, crack or whatever, and for cleaning it I just use a dab of tap water. Couldn't be simpler. And y .......

I would agree. The goop gets hard in the winter (not that it can't be used though) and softer in the hot Louisiana summer. What really got me about the Extreme is that the goop would make it's way out .......

Been using it for a while now, Sounds Of Silence sells them @ $35 which includes shipping. I haven't tried the "goop" but love this jelly-fish type compound. And you can wash it and reuse it. Dave ::: .......

Are you perhaps thinking of the "Solid-State Stylus Cleaner" sold by Extremephono, maker fo the "None-Felt" turntable mat? It looks like the same product as the ZeroDust, but at a fraction of the cost .......

Yup, I've tried the magic eraser with not terribly good results compared with my Extremephono goop plus the occasional wet cleaning with rubbing alcohol on a brush. I *think* you should wet the magic .......

Recommend the Disc Doctor kit for $30, cleans very effectively without damaging records. Spring $1.29 for a new vinyl dish drying rack from Target or Walmart, and go nuts. If you're afraid of breaking .......

Do a search for Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. You'll discover a stylus cleaner that is safe, effective, absurdly inexpensive and preferred by nearly all who've tried it. IME it works better than LP #9, Zero .......

Check out my DIY stylus cleaner if you're so-minded. I own LP #9, ZeroDust and ExtremePhono... - the DIY works better than any of them - no airborne hydrocarbons - it's about 1/10 the cost - it should .......

You might love my DIY stylus cleaner (see link). It works better than sandpaper because you can reach every side of the stylus and cantilever. It works better than LP #9. It works way better than zero .......

Do NOT use it wet. Wetting the ME causes its structure to collapse. It is more effective for stylus cleaning dry. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER drag it across your stylus. It is very "grabby". You could pull yo .......

I've used nothing but a dry brush + a piece of ME on my styli for over two years. No harm done, no residue ever left on the stylus. I used to clean my stylus only every ten sides or so. That was wrong .......

Neither the ZeroDust nor the extremephono will remove accumulated gunk, as you've just seen, and neither would do anything for your cantilever except gunk it up (or break it). LP #9 works very well. A .......

The fine sandpaper mentioned by Fred J works well, but if you're willing to spend $4-5 you can DIY a stylus cleaner that works even better. It also works better than ExtremePhono, ZeroDust or any of t .......
