The RD90 Superieur was actually one of Ariston's top-line decks, perhaps the best they made. I would say if it is in working condition (just turn it on and listen for noise) it would greatly outstrip .......

Fred, the RD11s is sounding terrific. I have not relubed the bearing yet, but removing the damping has yielded significant improvement. I'll post about the results of the relube when I get to it later .......

Compatibility between LP12 and RD11 TTs depends on the age of the TTs. The very first series of LP12 TTs were rebadged Aristons, then LP12s started to evolve away from the earliest design. My unders .......

I did read somewhere that the Ariston springs can be replaced with LP12 ones, but you have to use the LP12 rubber grommets as well. This seller on ebay will ship them worldwide. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ .......

I have had an Ariston RD11S for over 30 years, and I see no signs of bearing corrosion on my bearing. I did replace the bearing a few years ago for a ceramic bearing but the original was still shinnin .......

Any of the LP-12 power supplies should work on an Ariston *if* the frequencies match up. If you have a North American version of the Ariston, it uses a pulley for a 60 Hz motor. A UK version would hav .......

Oui et Oui. You should get new springs and grommets (Nirvana upgrade of long ago) for both decks. Then you can set them up and compare. RD 11 are so rare lol. I haven't seen one since the early 70's. .......

Yes, the RD11 is the original Ariston and looks just like a Linn. The main difference is the platter which is a one piece affair on the 11. The 11S has a different armboard which had a circular mounti .......

I think the older Karat has some advantages over the excellent 10x4, and 400 hrs is not all that much, if it was not abused. You probably could not go wrong with either and the 10x4 is just broken-in. .......

Regarding the Xenon, you could rewire it. There originally was a mono-crystal silver version offered, the Xenon MCS. Some Xenons apparently come with a DIN connector on the bottom. Mine has no connect .......
