They will not absorb much of anything, and to be effectve as diffussors, they must be pulled out and pushed in randomly at least 6" or so, which will look very untidy, and still only be a partial help .......

Most acoustic ceiling tiles are not that great at absorbing sound in the first place, they are merely better than a solid ceiling, period. They are so thin, and the HF absorption is usually poor too, .......

Diffussors are good for certain applications, but so far, using JUST diffussors does not seem to do the job as well as a mixture of absorbers and diffussors. See the last part of my DIY Acoustics note .......

The short answer is no, you can't use acoustic tiles. They aren't thick enough or absorptive enough and will only absorb higher frequencies. They could actually make things worse (more boomy). The bes .......

Bass traps placed at the 1st reflection points are NOT necessarily the best place to absorb/damp room modes, and are not as wide as most of the effective wall panels. It is a compromise use and result .......

Proper Acoustic foam will absorb HF's just as well as fiberglass, but bedding foams, packing faoms, etc, are of unknown quality, and will often reflect HF's to some extent. Fiberglass covered with opl .......

OK. The reflecting points should have a wide band capability because if all they do is absorb the HF's, the reflection will still be there in the lower mids and LF's. This will still muddy the stereo .......

No cloth, no absobing material is perfectly absorptive at all frequencies, they all reflect something at some frequency. This is true of the fabrics covreing the primary sound absorbing material, and .......

Using the 2" thick OC 703, I would use at least three panels for a wall panel frame, for a total thicknes of 6", with a layer of polyester batting on the front. However, I also recommend a wall panel .......

For the wall panel that is placed in an open spot, yes, put some drywall or plywood on the back, but be sure to leave some air space between it and the fiberglass! This may require additional framing .......
