Tube rush is common. Virtually always present to some degree. It can be more or less depending on the tube, topology, etc.. No, it doesn't mean the tube is no good - but don't confuse it with noise! T .......

Every piece of tube equipment I have ever owned has this effect to some degree. It is not the tubes going bad, though the type of white noise that begins to creep in when tubes are aging does resemble .......

The phono section is usually noisier then other inputs. If you use a tubed phono-stage plus a tubed line-stage, you will probably get more tube rush. I noticed that my Audible Illusions Mod-3 has more .......

Ok Im no expert but have used an m3a in the past. You shouldnt be getting noticable noise so I would try a few things to pin point the source. Is your amp tube or SS? The noise may be there if tubes. .......

I can't say that NOS tubes have inherently (or usually) less noise than Sovteks. What is true is that Sovteks are pretty inconsistent. NOS Amperex's were pretty consistent (according to the VTV issue .......

It needs to be said that Aesthetix gear is VERY noise sensitive. I usually have to hand select Sovtek 12AX7LPS (yes, an occasional Mullard will work too) to find tubes quiet enough for the Rhea and/or .......

Try cleaning the tube pins with a Q-tip and denatured alcohol. Clean the tube sockets with the little CHristmas tree things designed to clean in between teeth. SOme times it will stop the noise. bob " .......

Alex, since you experience this only when "phono" is selected, it seems that you have some tubes that are going bad. I am not familiar with the topography of your phono section, but I suggest two thin .......
