I believe the best sounding speaker in the size league of the Minimus 7 is generally considered to be the ADS L210 or L310. They are not widely available and are expensive new, but you do see used one .......

bp, That Tripath TA2024 chip in your Sonic Impact amp should not see more than 13.2V. You may have killed it. Some power supplys say "13.5V", but if you measure them, you may see over 14V. On cheaper .......

The headphones are by AKG, are their top of the line, and are designed to be driven by a low powered speaker amp. Check headfi.com for more info. I don't think this approach will work well for many he .......

I believe the sound quality will be about the same. The main difference between the T-Amp and the Super T-Amp are the volume control, case, connectors, and power supply. Make sure you use a good power .......

13.8 is pushing it, the chip will get plenty hot. The latest Sonic amps have NO cooling for the chip, too bad. I try to get all my TA2024 based T-Amps at 12V, but many other people have run them at 13 .......

I think the best deal in Tripath amplifiers (a.k.a. Class T) is the Virtue Audio 1 or 2 amplifiers. They don't have the built-in USB DAC like the Nuforce Icon, but it delivers the musical Tripath soun .......

If you're talking about the low power Tripath class D amps, I'd say they sound like tubes only if you're looking for that compressed or dynamically challenged and weak bass sound you get when runnin .......
