That is sort of what I am doing now. I am driving my Beyma CP25 super tweeters with the SI. I have a triamped system through a Rane 23. I wonder how many hours I would get out of the Xantrex150 before .......

It's the quietest amp I own. I can stick my ear right inside the cones and hear nothing at all. Not even a whisper. It's quieter than my previous quiet champ, the Tom Evans setup, and that's one of TE .......

There is no problem with running drivers close to Xmax, they reach that well below max power. I wouldn't be happy running drivers near Xlim though. Just in case: Xmax = maximum linear excursion; Xlim .......

I'd say Beyma OK. RCF or B&C is better (to put it simpy, they can handle more power in real life, due to longer excursion, among others) The price is about the same. (In Sweden anyway) /good hunting .......

Tens are overkill for that high a range and will get a bit harsh above 4kHz. Eminence Beta 8 will do nicely at a very reasonable price, over here that is, at about $35. There are others from B&C and B .......

You may want to check out Selenium drivers, also. They are a bargain compared to JBL, etc, but with equal quality. For 500-5k, my favorite is the D405, using a phenolic diaphragm. Very natural midrang .......

You might also consider the BMS 4590P coaxial 2" exit compression driver, which would automatically add tweeter to the mix on the same HF horn, and will easily go down to 500Hz. The crossover point fr .......

Nice but I think the xover frequency is too high. Beyma recommend 1.2kHz with a 2nd order hp for thew tweeter. Since you use 3rd order 1kHz is a realistic and safe crossover point, still be one octave .......

German companies seem more likely to publish distortion curves than others. ME Geithain and Neumann do for complete speakers, Eton, Accuton and BMS do for bare drivers. Unfortunately they don't all me .......

It's never easy to replace woofers in a ported design. 3A Allegretto are an efficient design (circa 95dB?), maybe something from Eminence, Beyma, or another pro-oriented brand, but that's just a start .......

Those are nice woofers with large Xmax. You either over powered them and opened the VC's or they had over excursion and potentially pulled / broke a lead in which you may be able to see on the outside .......

I have the Beyma 10LW30N and it is very good from around 200 hz down to 50 hz, fast clean and detailed, I dont know how high I would cross it but I guess the limit would be 500-800 hz for me, the cone .......

the d-123's are in perfect condition. they are now in modified bass reflex acousticraft cabinets as per advice from another poster here. their midrange & vocals are very good. i might consider the bey .......

It's certainly possible but the d123 will only do 70hz in a 3 cubic foot closed box and low 50s BR. Are the original drivers bad? They can be refoamed. The Beyma 12BR70 may be a better choice. I worke .......

Yes, the stock Klipsch midrange and treble are rough & harsh. The worse is the K400 horn lense. I paired my midrange drivers with some EV SM120A wide dispersion horns, and they already sound much, muc .......

We've got two things going here: the amorphous transformers in the LD91 and the AF tweeters in new baffle. Now about 50 hrs along and sound is much smoother compared to Beyma. Treble energy is bit les .......

Hi Bauls I'm sure Robert will add to this. For driver mounting: Sub Bass mount from the front. Use thicker wood. Widebands mount from the back. Use the thinner wood. Also the widebands benefit greatly .......

Hi, First, the trick to cover a large space is to distribute the sound. If your space has a hanging ceiling mounting fullrange drivers into this will work rather well, choose something like a Beyma 8A .......
