I have another Grundig NF-10 ELL80 amp that was refurbished and a not very expensive Transendent preamp. What a glorious combination. Speakers are Clearaudio Delta monitors with Philips tweeters. .......

I just noticed these cool 12AX7 preamps from Japan. I like the retro feel,,meters, bakelite (it seems) knobs, etc. I cannot judge the quality by the construction/parts although it seems well put toget .......

Especially if it was just shipped to you. I just received my Grundig NF-10 back from being worked on, and I think a resistor was touching the side of the chasis....I thought the smell was my Espres .......

Amazingly enough, the sweetest tube I have is the smaller sibling to the Grundig NF-20, the NF-10, which is a 12AX7 and ELL80 output tube amp. .......

What do you mean by general purpose? People have been using these preamps for exactly that purpose...The main inputs when designed was R2R and LP...an input for multiplex. The preamp, the way its stan .......

Maybe someone who is familiar with the NRG's can shed light on its behavior. I turn on the tube preamp, then the amp, it amp makes sound for 10 sec, then the green light turns red, and the music st .......

It sounds suprisingly good. Its been updated to run full range and new PS..lower end Mundorf caps also. Now If I could only find a TFK or Grundig period tuner that matches this setup...I haven't be .......

I am really loving the simplicity and nice sound of this Telefunken S1 Integrated amp. It does have some mods to it, but not a full recap. It is dead quiet through my Cabbase Galion IV which are 94 .......

Well I tried again, and one amp, both taps sound exactly the same. The one amp gives me less gain with the 16 ohm. I assume its the 16ohm as its the one further from the black one. unless its reversed .......

It does play music, but a tad lower than the other amp, but its enough to almost not be able to tell from listening position that the speaker is connected...I just hope it isn't a transformer.. I trie .......

Well, when i use the 16 ohm taps, the image shifts to the other speaker you cannot even tell that the other speaker has sound coming out of it. When I go back to 8 ohms, perfect centered imaging. I do .......

Ok, one of my Burgess RL12 T15 monoblocks is giving me decreased output on the 16ohm output compared to the 8 ohm tap. The other amp gives me the same output. Can anyone think what can cause that? Can .......

I sold my JBL 4430's and other stuff so I could finally try a full Burgess system. The preamp is a 76/6J5, 6F8G or 6SN7: Currently until the new to me Burgess amps arrive I am using a Berning EA .......

I also use for most of the time a Berning EA230 triode amp....and its a perfect match for the JBL's...the dynamics and clarity is exceptional...I use the 300B usually when listening to Lute/guitar mus .......

The receiver is fully rebuilt....but i will look into maybe upgrading the components you mentioned. last night I tried the 4 ohm taps and it worked pretty well. I even connected a Pilot AA-904 to one .......

I have driven Bozak CG's with a Berning Microzotl and that is what, 1 watt? I have also used many integrated amps on it with no issues. I think the 602 is 15-20 watts? or 12-15 watts. .......

in all honesty, the L96's hold their own very well....foir what they cost when you can find a pair, its ridiculoously good performance with tubes or SS... Its mainly in the bass where it gets killed s .......

yeah, I like to have all my speakers a bit away from the boundaries...I never measured really, just placed them symmetrically in the room. the couch where I sit is probably 8-9 ft from the speaks. dis .......

This is my second Sine Qua Non boxes and am quite pleased...Good pace, Super well worth the dollar fifty i paid at the animal shelter. Flutes a bit hot at times..cellos, etc clearly on right, violins .......

Yes, I managed to play them...the Capitol box sounds great!! I just found the pacing a tad slow. The 2 Atterberg LP's are stupendous. I live in the sticks where the only LP's I find at estate or thrif .......

Well, wife's job..she will be the physician on Chincoteage Island, and I will eventually get a job teaching high school, or I will keep coaching tennis on my own. Very glad to be leaving GA!! ::: TOP .......
