all in stereo. It's true stereo, too, not Duophonic. I've also got original Capitol copies, in stereo. The AP reissues sound at least as good-- Surfer Girl is much better--and benefit from clean fresh .......

Our littlest cat had walked across mine while a record was playing (dustcover down of course) and the turntable didn't miss a beat. The TX-2 is excellent with warped records, too. I'd imagine the RX-2 .......

If I had to guess, the RX-2 probably does the same thing. It'll pick the LP up a bit before it lowers the arm. .......

You can't "eat" just one. All the recommendations below are excellent but I'd include Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers with Thelonious Monk . It's on Atlantic, not hard to find. I think Rhino may have eve .......

I saw one once, but never heard one. Seems to be fairly robust though once you learn how to set it up. As far as cartridges go, it's hard to recommend one. We all seem to look for different strengths .......

You could blindfold yourself and just pick any one of them and be happy. If it were me, I'd keep the Revox and the B&O. I like linear tracking. Both of the decks I use are LT and, yes, one of them is .......

I've had a TX2 for about five years. It's a good back-up turntable I could easily live with as a main deck. It's great for ripping LPs to CD, too. It's dead quiet, it'll play all but the most ridiculo .......

The only thing holding it in place is the four contact pins. Take the end of the arm between two finger and pull the cart out with two more fingers, preferably on the other hand. .......

You pull it off the arm, as described below. Soundsmith sells replacement carts, but you can also have your cart rebuilt by Axel in Germany. He did the MMC4 on my TX2. .......

The records are cleaned first on a DIY machine, then I dry brush with either a CF brush or, usually, a dry Discwasher brush. We have cats. The CF brush just pushes cat hairs around the record surface .......

AT150MLx and AT440MLa. Very little difference between the two. FWIW, I think the Denon DL160 is better than either of them, though it doesn't trace grooves quite as well. .......

The Model R does need stands, should be about 18 inches off the floor and tilted slightly back. The R and RII use the KEF "horsetrack" oval woofer. I haven't played much vocal stuff on the Frieds yet, .......

I generally set the air pressure the quick and dirty way, i.e. find a really off-center LP and keep adding pressure until the cantilever stops swinging back and forth. The Tetra pump should be easier .......

I bought the Vinyl Flat system last Fall and had great success with it. My opinion, an LP flattening system is essential. There's no need to discard a good record because it's warped. .......

I've got nearly 20 hours on the cartridge now and it's really sweet. Great balance from top to bottom and the Shibata tip does a much better job of tracing the grooves than the elliptical on the Sound .......

I built mine but screwed up the solder joints on the right channel. Jim Hagerman fixed it for me at no charge. The pads on that circuit board are small. I had a tough time checking continuity. My old .......

According to Concord's website, the "new" Originals are mastered from 24-bit digital. I can deal with that as long as the pressing quality is good. If Scorpio is pressing them, I'll pass. .......

the DB-8 might be slightly more accurate but the Bugle 2 has more punch, deeper and tighter bass, livelier overall sound. I only had a chance to spin two LPs tonight, it'll take a bit more listening. .......

The first two albums sound OK, Darkness On The Edge of Town was mastered by Doug Sax at the Mastering Lab, so it's pretty dang good too. Even The River is OK if a bit thin sounding. Born To Run is the .......

I agree it's a great record, maybe the Boss's best. It doesn't totally suck sonically either, which is the most frustrating part. Some of the tracks aren't that bad, "Thunder Road," "Tenth Avenue Free .......

The DL-160 was only a bit more expensive than the 110. IMO having used both cartridges, the DL-160 was far and away better than the 103. .......

is probably an earlier pressing. With Columbia or Epic classical music, it doesn't matter much really. I have a lot of Stereorama LPs and the later blue label Epic classics and they sound the same. As .......

I prefer Grundman to Grey, I think Grundman's and Chris Bell's work on the Rhino reissues is superior. That's just my opinion. Kevin Grey doesn't roll off the top and bottom, there's just a smoothness .......

the original MMC4 cart is over in Germany with Axel right now getting rebuilt with a Shibata tip. I think they're terrific tables, the TX2 is quiet, no wow or flutter, and it's extremely stable. Our s .......

You shouldn't have any problem finding a replacement however a word to the wise--don't play any recording of value on that turntable stylus condition notwithstanding. That tone arm is a groove-grinder .......
