I have not heard either the TAD kt88 or 6550a - but believe them to be "98" Shuguang versions to TAD specs? I am seriously considering a set of one of them for my CJ Prem 8a... .......

I have found, via a number of grado's here over the years, they like almost no antiskate... I wonder if that was part of your hearing also... if your antiskate being affected by a lower VTF... Grado's .......

Mullard - you can tell by the dimpled disc getter/no shield... Good tube, nice stage, wet... depending on the circuit used will determine the sound. but in preamps and the gain/driver stage of amps us .......

Just be careful of the fans wires is all... there might even be a disconnect clip, for that low voltage lead to the fans built inside the case. Gilbert designed that for easy access... and built the t .......

I would leave the fans in place, and remove the side screws, and those near the front faceplate, and rear. lift and service. Obviously turn off the unit, unplug the unit... and give a little while for .......

I think they are 1/4 20... stock. But I had a set made with 3/8 16... so there are custom ones out there... I doubt they would do metric 8mm or 6mm unless it's custom. The bolt you need from say the h .......

So I did notice a slight hesitation, or way more turbo lag, with some gas over others stock... once I had the Cobb AP, you could see the knock/the neg corrections, with some fuels over others. easily .......

Depending on the design of the cable, your return ground may end up being the other half of the signal... your main signal wire in the RCA would carry one half of the balanced signal, the negative/ret .......

Not quite, wasn't the woofer side loaded - not in front? I remember when I heard the Rockport Merak combo, the bass in the stage was off, I believe it was side mounted... Not a big fan of side mounted .......

I would bet, your digital is not grounded, except maybe to the preamp. So I would, rather than ground to your phono pre's ground terminal, ground to your preamp with the TT ground wire, just to an ext .......

I have a Blue Circle BC109 with some supercaps (not quite a CP1 at this time :) we'll get there :) BUT it runs for almost 6 hours on the supercaps (with a full CP1 it is more like 15 hours, cp2 = 20+ .......

as I believe the HP100 has a rather high output impedance, so check the input imp. to the amp - to make sure the HP100 can drive the amps input stage. I would put Manley for tube amps, and Blue Circle .......

Yup. You got it. Since the Xono MC section is designed with shunts that take the full gain, and lower it by -4db, -10db, and -14db down from full output - that is how I try to describe the settings us .......

I would not twist the wires. I would use 10awg Solid core 2+ ground romex and use all that inductance in the length you will be using to roll off any high frequency info - per Herr Crump's instruction .......

It depends..... what amp you're using, how sensitive your speakers are,.... With quiet tubes (ATSI Phono grade Eh23Eb), I was able to use a .2mV Sumiko Talisman 'S' with the AI at 3 o'clock and rocked .......

I would look for a Tg Audio Ac cord, maybe the HSR-A. Better than both the BM and Digital Ac. At least on my digital front end. I agree with Blazter below as far as the Digital Ac goes. Not very dynam .......

I run very short speaker cables, longer ic's, but have a very dynamic pre that puts out a lot of current. If you went with a Rogue or AI pre with your amps, then definitely go with shorter speaker cab .......

I think I have got a solution for ya. Check out Audiogon, and get the the Blue Circle BC 6 amp ($1600). More than enough power for the TSM's, it will really surprise you how much current the BC6 can d .......

My system is similar to your own. If the LASS sounds similar to the Tg Audio HSR IC I have been using, then it should smoke em. Strong words I know, but thats the way I hear it. I have owned both Nord .......

Mike, if you like the overall sound of your system, then I definitely recommend staying with Kimber; but moving to KCAG with the 0108 RCA, or any Kimber Select if you can find them used. I love the Se .......
