Hi, The Cayin A-70T supposedly can run KT-88, 6550, EL34, 6CA7, 6L6 or KT66 tubes, although my owners manual does not explicitly state this. The owners manual is also devoid of any bias values for tub .......

try this... start up EAC, then click on EAC --> EAC Options --> Write tab There's a checkbox for "Use CDRDAO for writing in the EAC layout editor" If there's a checkmark in the box, remove it and clic .......

When I've encountered disc that would not rip, I chalked it off as a hardware issue. I could take that same disc to a different PC and rip it (via EAC). Thanks for the info on dbpoweramp. .......

EAC provides the same functionality of secure and accurate rips, provided the source CD isn't flawed, which neither product can magically cure. dbpoweramp does have an nice GUI... .......

Would removing the balance control be a worthwhile endeavor? I'm thinking less "stuff" in the signal path plus possible improvements in channel balance. If doing this would make a good tweak, my next .......

One only needs to employ a router or hub if the PC is not a dedicated music server but shared. Otherwise, a crossover cable can be run from PC to Squeezebox. Can you offer any observations on the soun .......

The BVaudio A300SE provides nice soundstage extension. This piece is a definite sleeper and not talked about much. Dual-mono design, excellent volume control and input gain adjustable on its' 5 inputs .......

You'll need more than just the toolkit. Also needed is the SDK for the nmake utility. But then you'll run into a roadblock when MSVCRT.lib isn't found (not part of the SDK or tookkit). Is the missing .......

I asked this question when I recently ordered an AES/EBU cable and the response from the manufacturer was that length is not important. That's not to say that between certain components, a 1.5m length .......

Break-in compared to others is drastically shorter. Really the only part that needs a little workout to loosen up is the woofer. Depending on how large the room and placement, that little 8" does well .......

Why add felt to the grills when you can do better by removing them, at least for the listening session? Several AA members had success using Dynamat to damping the metal frame. But as is, they are won .......

Compared to the stock supports, the Sound Anchors are a much more solid structure. The SA's improve the quality of the bass, cleaner and extended. And being rigid, it also helps out in the rest of the .......

Greg, Sorry, typo, it's Cromolin, an expensive constrained layer damping material. Good for stuff like CD players, preamps but way to expensive to cover the front of the LFT. Sounds like I'll have to .......

Mr. Belles is a very nice person. His 150 Reference amps are supposed to be slightly more refined than the 350A. Rumor has it that he's working on a Class A type amp next. BTW, I have my LFTs biwired, .......

DC, I have two pairs of Poiema! ICs and a set of biwire Poiema! speaker cables. Out of the box, they sounded fantastic compared to my former cabling. Let them settle in a little longer and they opened .......

Thanks Kal, Actually the ceiling is 7' for several feet then drops down to 6.5' for a length and then back to 7' again. Specifically, my dilemma is in regards to bass response. With the speakers 41" f .......

Hi, I have my audio equip. set up in a basement area which has a rear wall behind the speakers, two side walls but no wall immediately behind the listening position. That wall is located another 15' b .......

Try emailing Dave again, as it has been said before, it's essentially a one-man operation (he has a few people working for him). I can't comment on the 250i, but I do have his 20A preamp and 350A powe .......

angioman - I'm using the RVC and the build and sound quality is excellent. When switching volume settings, there is NO noise whatsoever though the speakers. The only sound you'll hear is the mechanica .......

Fish, I've had the Eminent Tech LFT-8a's for over a month now and in my system, they proved to be absolutely amazing. Before receiving them, I was sceptical on how well the bass quality/quantity would .......

Placette Audio interconnects ~$200/1 meter. Similar in appearance to the Audience Au24 cables. Open, detailed, nice top to bottom presentation (in my system). .......

Like I said, its not an every-cd occurrence, but when it does happen, its pretty annoying. Given my luck, I would have to be the one to sumble across such a thing. .......

Shif, My CDs are in pristine condition. The problem is the actual audio start time on the track. I was able to isolate a track which caused the player to clip it's beginning every time. I also replica .......

Jeff, The disc I've been able to isolate which reproduces the problem every time is Kevin Eubanks, Sundance, GRP Records GRD-9506, the first track. Been going round and round with Cary since Jan. '03. .......

Be careful with the 308 & 308T as they have a tendency to clip a tiny portion of beginning tracks on certain CDs. I'm wrapped in a battle with them now in attempts to find a cure. My 308 and my dealer .......

M5, Not the clear cut answer you're looking for but your best bet would be to demo both cables and let your ears decide. I've demo'd the A+ Solo Crystal Oval 8 and found them to sound very good in my .......

I'm currently using a double run of AQ Slate on each channel, biwiring to Monitor Audio Silver 8i speakers. Had the wire for about 2 years and I just did a major overhaul with a new CDP (Cary CD308), .......

Zkidd, Yep, heard of this preamp and have one for about a month now. Significant improvement over my prior preamp of 10+ years which was a Hafler IRIS. What hooked me was obviously the improved sound .......
