My KEF Reference 1s are set up for bi-wring or bi-amping as are the Ayre VX-5 Twenty I use and the Parasound JC 1 monoblocks I don't. I biwire but I've always been wary of bi-amping. I switched amps .......

Setup is now Mac Mini to Ayre QB-9 DSD DAC to Ayre KX-5xeMP to a pair of Parasound JC 1s that drive KEF LS50s. Turns out Ayre preamp pairs very well with the JC 1s, and the sound quality with this set .......

I finally got around to reading the QB-9 DSD manual and now understand why direct from Mini to the DAC sounds so good. The DAC was designed specifically for that use with asynchronous USB input and so .......

My LPS 1.2 has a smaller unit that plugs into it. I don't recall its purpose. There are a total of three units, the LPS 1.2 matches the ultraRendu in appearance and a smaller unit attached to the LPS .......

The Ayre A7e is a fully balanced integrated amp. Need to avoid grounding speaker leads. Subs take negative to ground, so it's usually recommended that it be floated. .......
