No. The HD 660S is not better than the HD 650. From best to OK its HD 600, HD 650 and the HD 660S. It is not a bad headphone. Its great if you are trying to drive it with a DAP or in my case, an Ifi Z .......

Silver for the HD 650s and copper for the HD 800s. I would say that they were Norne cables, but the silver one exceeds $300. Norne has a very nice copper cable and Trevor has a special tune for the HD .......

I like Norne cables. The only problem with them is you have to be patient. Trevor makes them one at the time. Ask him for his recommendation by email and continue until he answers. Nice Guy--Great cab .......

I bought my 2A3 Acme matched pair from Grant. I really appreciated the chance to buy "select" tubes. Have not had any problems with them and break in was a breeze, but my Audio friend in LA had a brut .......

In my DNA Stratus, The Acme Supreme2A3s are the most dynamic and resolving I have tried. I use that Big 5U4G EML rectifier with them. The KR 2A3s are nice too. I use a WE 422A with them. Nice early 40 .......

In my SLP 98 preamp, the Sylvania tall bottle 6SN7W black base is a killer. The "52" Sylvania 6SN7s are about equally good. I got my 6SN7Ws from Tube World, and they ain't cheap, but worth every penny .......

That's funny. My bias point is the same as when mine was an "i". My "i" manual says 275MA with 220 a minimum setting. Dennis has always said it (i and R) sound best at 230-235MA. I keep mine at 240. S .......

Call Cary and get the bias kit that comes with a V12. Its a cord with the socket plug on one end and two aligator clips on the other plus a Radio Shack analogue meter for bias reading. I would E your .......

My red chassis also still says "V12" between the small front tubes. The "i" was nice after a Cary Rocket 88, but the "R" is much better with a fuller more powerful sound, much better bass and low volu .......

There is no recommended tracking force. There was a test graph included that had 2g as the tracking force used for the test. I am going to increase my setting from 1.90g to 2.00g tonight. .......

To the best of my knowledge, Dennis Had and Bill C of this forum like bias at 230 for their V12s. Thats where mine is. I don't like it higher than 240. Did your tube LEDs go out at 220? .......

I think you need to switch to TG Audio cables. My cat has never showed the least interest in eating my TG Audio cables. If you have Vahalla ICs, you might check out the review of the TG Audio Hi Purit .......

Did all the LEDs light up beside the power tubes? Did you check the balanced/single ended input switches? Is the power cable inserted fully? If yes to all these questions, call Cary first thing Monday .......

Nice system, but crappy sources. I'm using N804s in my 11x13 room, and am happy with my tube amp in triode mode at 50wpc. The N805s are even more efficient. I think you need to buy a used pair of N805 .......

Having owned an original, not "R" Rocket, and an original, "i" V12, I would say that it all depends on your speakers and room size. The Six Packs are more like my upgraded V12R in that they are 50wpc .......
