The 400 was introduced in 1972 and replaced with the series 2 in 1978. The ad has the old series 1 Phase Linear not the series 2. That's about the same time that Audio Research was selling the first T .......

them. They are in very clean condition but they are the Tympani IV not the IVAs with the larger midrange driver. I have seen IVAs go for as little as $1,000 unless the market has driven them up lately .......

Electrolytic capacitors do not last 30 or 40 years some only last 10 years. They either dry out or leak, either way they need to be periodically replaced. You might want to see this blog on the PAT4; .......
