thanks, I didn't realize they draw that much. The schematic says there are 3 pilots, and I'll only have one, which may be a LED. This says I should be able to add at least one tube w/o problems. ::: T .......

so that says the impedance shown to the 12AU7 would be 9971 = ~ 10000 ohms? with the 8 ohm fender tank and the OT I'm using that's ~ 5000, not as bad of a mismatch as I thought, but still 2x. ::: TOPI .......

IMO it's about the volume. Audiogon has been a shopping/selling site for much longer - so there are more listings/shoppers. With the enhancements to the Trader - hopefully more shoppers will come here .......

sorry, I should have been more clear. The filaments have ~6.5Vac when measured across them, but when measuring from chassis(ground) to filaments, I get + ~20Vdc .......

excellent! It's clear preamp gain is the issue. I have a little external gain pedal I used that overdrives the power tubes nicely. I just want that gain built in and I'm hoping to get a little preamp .......

I tested all 6 of these tubes this morning and there are no issues with any of them. They draw ~1ma more plate current than a new set of JJ 6L6's, and 2ma more than an older set of Tung Sol 6L6's. Tha .......

thanks, the particular amp in this case has a bias pot for each tube, but I have other amps (both audio and guitar amps) that have a single pot per p-p pair, or are cathode biased. .......

you may also want to check all the fuses in there while you're at it. I believe that amp has fuses on the boards, and if one is blown it could act this way. .......

I have a B&K 607 tube tester, and after testing a half dozen 6EU7 tubes and finding them all bad, I read the fine print in my tester guide and found is says I need to use the "adapter for the 6EU7". B .......

I found that the Phoenix leave a residue unless I go through a good rinse cycle. Haven't you had this problem? there where white flakes on the disc (like dandruff) after the first play. .......

Are there any Nu-Vista owners out there who have tried, or have found out if a Nuvistor 7895 can be sub'd for the standard 6CW4's in Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista gear - and most specifically in the Pream .......

I can't speak to the how the 400 compares to the other amps you mention, but in my experience the 400 bass is not accurate, though does have some nice qualities. I have a pair of Infinity Monitor IIA .......

I would whole heartedly endorse the idea. I've done 3 projects - the one most noteable is the first. I took an old set of Wharfedale W35's. The cabinets are bulletproof with excellent veneer and workm .......

it sounds like it's transformer hum. I think this is fairly common in Bedini amps, possibly others to. I have a Conrad Johnson that does it, and my Bedini 100.100 does too. One way to quiet it is to m .......

Incanada - I have the Sttafs and Mani-2's. The Sttafs really need to be closer together and farther from the wall to do their best imaging. I think the Mani's will do nicely at 11 ft apart, but won't .......

No, they're a Transmission Line. My reference related to 2 things - 1) they're a 1975 speaker, and 2) the Mid and Tweeter units in these appear to be identical to the drivers ADS was using at the time .......

I haven't tried B&K with ADS speakers, but have with many other speakers, and always with excellent results. Maybe the most comparable for your interest is with my old Infinity Monitor IIA's. I've pow .......
