Use the mV setting on your voltmeter. You are effectively reading mA. The amp test points have a resistor wired in series so that you get a 1:1 reading of mV=mA. .......

If you look at the data sheets for the 46, you will find that it was actually designed with a triode-strapped mode in mind. The rating and power is not quite as much as a 45, but at SE levels it does .......

I have some that are Mesa branded (STR440), and I believe they are mid-late 1990s (when sold, who knows when they were made). Interestingly enough, Mesa now uses the STR440 designation for 6L6GCs. I .......

All you need is the adapter - no mess, no fuss. As other posters have mentioned, the 7N7 is electrically equivalent to the 6SN7GT (there may be some later version 7N7s that are equivalant to 6SN7GTA a .......

Order of 6SN7 "importance" in the S-30 MKII is front (most) to back (least). The back 6SN7 can only be a GTA or GTB (or comparable newer designation), so do not use your VT-231s there. .......

It works. I did not clean up the physical damage to the transformers - had trouble getting the shells off, so I left well enough alone. Only did a little touch up black. Will need a new case at som .......

Received the amps today. These things are huge (about 15.5 in x 16.5 in on the base, and over 70 pounds each). The brand in "Fine", and the model is "Power Amp Model OCL 100". This is no custom job - .......
