I've been playing with Audiosource Seven T, a Tripath, 200 wpc amp mated with tube preamps. Sounds very good for such a low cost amp, bought new for under $300. Crazy hobby. .......

Direct sunlight will cause color fading over time due to the UV, the window will probably filter some but everyday exposure is not good. .......

I'm usually seated when listening so 3 feet tall and the projected sound is ear level, it's a nice point source coming from the center. When I had the 3.6's, I thought the vocalist was too expansive. .......

For the 3.1's, I have stands so the height is not a issue. Without stands, you can also angle and tilt with the adjustable feet. I just got the 3.5's and initial assessment is that image height is not .......

Might also want to check out the Gallo 3.1 or 3.5 depending on your budget. Both have that planar sound soundstage but with a little more low impact. Also check out Golden Ear line with their folded r .......

Been trying different wires for years and have finally settled on some solid pure silver 24 gauge speaker wires from Clear Day. Despite the small gauge I find these very detailed, 3D, and convey bass .......

As you know, the ribbons have a narrow sweet spot so as long as it is angled correctly it might work out. But I would also try phantom center first, some folks swear by it given a choice. .......

Your room size should be a consideration. I had the 3.6's in a 13' x 28' room and thought it was a little small, sold it and got the Gallo 3.1's and Magnepan MG12. Will probably get the 1.7's next yea .......

I've matched the Le Amp mono's to my 3.6's with great results. Even though the 3.6's are watt eater, the mono's were very cool and worked wonders to the sound, a tribute to their beefy power, great co .......

I found that sound in the Martin Logan speakers no matter where I auditioned them, especially during the tzzzzz note, maybe my ears are sensitive to that sound. .......

When I set the phantom channel configuration on my pre/pro, I find that the DVD extras don't quite work with no info from dialog as if the center speaker is missing, but its fine with the main movie. .......

That method does work, but works better with box speakers with flat baffle for most effective cancellation. Also throw a heavy blanket or two over the speakers to further dampen the noise. Pink noise .......

It depends on age and condition, typically AG items go for 50% of retail in good-ex. cond. It seems like Maggies hold their value fairly well, maybe 60-70%. I just sold my 4 year old 3.6's for 75% of .......

Anyone downgrade from 3.6's to 1.6's? I sold them because of a new addition in the family and knew eventually prying fingers will find their way to the speakers, also knew I wouldn't have time to play .......

The ribbon tweeters for the 3 series run about $125 each in the States, but you have to ship the damage tweeter back, otherwise its like $400. Not sure what you mean by "Does anyone know what the cost .......

Actually its a lot for a component that is not being used. I'm trying to be a energy conservationist and 50 watts x 24 hrs x 365 days is 438 Kwh per year and that's just one PP600. I usually unplug it .......

They should last fairly long and are durable, the only thing is they do attract dust so you might have to vacuum them carefully once in a while. Also make sure you listen to them carefully with single .......

I have the 4B-ST and found that tube hybrids are the best preamps. Not sure what your budget is, but look for some used ARC pre's. The build quality is second to none, even the older ones sound great. .......

I have the Sound Anchor stands on my 3.6's and they are very well built and sturdy. They do allow very flexible adjustment in the tilt forward and backward depending on your seating arrangements. Know .......

From another inmate the LS1 is a linestage version of the SP9MKII and not the original SP9. There is a extensive review of the SP9MKII in stereophile which landed a class "B" rating. .......

Probably no harm to Maggies, just the smell. Electrostats like ML is another issue, they are magnets for dust and smoke, but a gentle vacuum occasionally should cure it. .......

Change your filter to those 3M allergen micro filters, HEPA type. In a Consumer Reoprts study, those did better then the stand alone filters. Expect to pay abput $12-16 each, they should last 3 months .......

Thanks badman, its just that the guy at Anixter indicated that they normally sell that for TV cables and that its an RG. Also. I know that 75 ohm cable is usually recommended for digital and video, so .......

Jim, You might want to get a dedicated Maggie 3.6 stand where you can tilt the speakers forward which might give you the same results as standing. There might be some room interaction going on that yo .......

It should be fine, just because a unit is right side up doesn't mean UPS/Fedex didn't ship the unit upside down, sideways, etc. you should see how they throw these boxes around. Manufacturers do a lot .......

Bambi, There are 2 distinct noise and they occur without switching anything. One is a ping with a echo(actually both channels, but worst in left) and the other is like a rat-a-tat-tat, almost like ope .......

Go for the 1.6's, they do have sufficient bass when they are properly broken in, there are also used ones for sale usually around $1,000-1,400. .......

You need to find out how well teh 3.6's were broken in. A found at first the bass was anemic, then after about 500 hours, there wasn't a need for a sub. There is a night and day difference between bro .......

what are your LR speakers? If they are Magnepans then the new CC3 will be a great match, it goues down to 80 hz. Probably no has gotten theirs yet until March but I ahve the CC1 and its about the best .......
