Thanks for all of the replies. Purchased a quad of the GL KT77's from Jim McShane(the best in the business, IMHO). Very nice and not a lot of hours on them yet. .......

My comment was not very clear. I meant the reliability of the current JJ's seemed to be better than the JJ's of the past, however, based on some of the posts, maybe not... .......

It should be okay if you get a 2009 or later version. I emailed Rogue about this last week and they said that when they redesigned the preamp in 2009, it was partly to eliminate this problem but said .......

Sorry, I could have been a little more clear. I did mean rhythm and pace. The amp seemed slow in that regard. But based on the responses, it looks like it was not the 300 tube but bad speaker/amp matc .......

Thanks for the input. That was actually a couple of pairs of speakers ago. I now have a pair of high efficiency single driver speakers, but was leaning towards a 2A3/45 amp. Looks like I'll have to ad .......

I once borrowed a 300B amp which sounded very good but slow on recordings with some pace. I chalked it up to poor speaker/amp matching, but have heard people remark about this on occasion. Wondering i .......

I purchased the Super Abbys in order to go the triode route. Sold my Reference 3A De Capo "i" which I never quite warmed up to. I have an Audio Note P2SE which I think will sound pretty good when the .......

I have a new pair of Super Abbys and a Bailey I haven't been able to set up yet as I had to relocate my audio room and decorate. I can barely hook everyting up properly, so it should be a hoot trying .......
