My rule of thumb is at least 5 times the maximum current draw. In your case, 5*500 = 2500 VA ~=2,500 Watts. I use a 3 KVA AC regenerator to feed my system and there is a slight reduction of bass slam .......

I am not JR, but can give you some pointers: Malcolm Hawksford proved (and published a paper on HFN/RR) that 0.8 mmm diameter (AWG 22) is the thickest cable that will not show apppreciable treble loss .......

I use 5 minute epoxy in my DIY interconnects. Its resistance is higher than my DMM's resolution (20 Meg ohms), maybe close to infinite resistance (when dry). .......

Hi, Josh, I suggest that you buy an used Wadia DAC. A Wadia X32 will cost you less than $400 and outputs 4 Volts with a very low output impedance. It sounds much better than most low cost current CDPs .......
