Agreed, tubes are not top of mind for this, although I have enjoyed them in multiple systems in the past. Finding a good used SS amp is not easy. Lots of class d out there for the budget but thinking .......

I too run Lubuntu and do not use Pulse. Pulse did not sound as good to my ears as ASIO with another Linux variant and my USB dac. Nothing about not using Pulse with Lubuntu causes my system to be brok .......

Should work quite nicely. It replaced a double run of Analysis Plus Oval 12 in my system. You need to really run them in for some time to get them sounding smooth as they can be bright when first hook .......

IMHO Yes. Try to find a Jolida which I thought much smoother and detailed. Super quiet as well. Should be able to find a modded one for $700 or so and less for unmodded. Be sure to invest in an afterm .......

I did not hear the Mytek. I liked the Levinson 360S at $7000 better than the Benchmark, I liked the Musical Fidelity A324 at $1200 a bit less, and I thought the PS Audio was a bit further down at $220 .......
