Quite an abrupt and unfortunate decision..I hope he reconsiders, as IMHO Mr Lavorgna has the best taste in music of any audio writer that I ve read ....I ll miss his musical recommendations DEARLY! Wo .......

Try to audition the Eminent Technologies 8bs if you are able... Much more coherent sounding than ANY hybrid panels, in mine not so humble opinion... Much cheaper too.... Easily top 5 speakers in the w .......

I did own the CM5 S1s as well :) .... Owned both at the same time in different set ups... The CM5 S1 imaged more tangibly, had more body, the CM1s just disappeared better as a point source.... ::: TOP .......

These are amazing! I currently use them on my desktop, but have used them on good stands and they just present vast musical tapestry.... The S2 version is little different from the S1, but will give o .......

I ve heard Vandys at Vandy seminar in New Jersey at their dealer and at the Chicago show. Both the Rowland and AYRE are fruits of the same tree: soul-less transistor sound reproduction, sadly Rowland .......

Cts I have listened to the both Treo and the Model 7. Both of them sounded kind of floaty and disjointed.. And I thought the CM8s2 were superior speakers, price notwithstanding ... .. I actually prefe .......

Some old Thiels are fine speakers... If you like that kind of sound, see if you can listen to the new Rega Rx3 or Rx5s....They are more refined... Or if you see previous gen RS3&RS5 you may find those .......

fantja I only heard top of the line Verity speaker at the show set up... I think there were about 70 grand, and at the show set up....if memory serves me right ... .......

Yes you are right we all hear differently.. From what I heard Vandy( and i heard them all in my 30 years of hi end experience in NYC and in Europe) were dull and lifeless and boring...Sonus fabers sav .......

If the B&W CM8S2 have sibilants, those are most certainly problems of the associated equipment.... Some models are bright but the CM8s2 is not, even thru the Best Buy's switching boards ... If you fou .......

Try to audition the new Bowers Wilkins CM8S2 (not the CM9s).. They are amazing speakers, especially for classical music. Just make sure the pair that you will be listening has at least 300 hours of br .......
