Sounds like a very nice system you have. A $100-200 TT isn't likely going to do your system justice. If you want audiophile quality sound, I'd save up and get something such as a Rega P3, along with a .......

I also have a 294-and eventually upgraded to the heavy kit--but not before I made other upgrades first. Your $1500 would be better spent upgrading from the Black to the Rosewood Signature for example. .......

Unless you really don't like 45 RPM, the Analogue Productions Stereo 45 RPM is the best reissue I have heard with regard to tonality--and is still in print for $50. I also have the Classic Mono 33 RPM .......

The Sonys sound better than the Sundazed--but not by a large margin. If you don't already have this music, the mono box is a great buy. If you already have all the Sundazed pressing, it's a closer cal .......

Agreed. I found the best combo of tubes to be a ribbed Tele 12AX7 in the front position, and 5751s in the two remaining positions. Using at least two 5751s restores dynamics lost when using the stock .......

The mat you use with your Nottingham really comes down to personal preferance. I've tried all kinds of mats with the Spacedeck, and with that as well as the Space 294 I have now, I prefer the standard .......

The Nottingham's house sound is definitely on the smooth and tubey side, compared to Rega, for example, which sounds quicker and snappier. I'm sorry, but I don't have experience with VPIs. That said, .......

I have my arm set up for 180/200 gm records. When I play standard weight vinyl, I slip another thin record under the felt mat. I've done it for years and it is easier than adjusting VTA. .......

I did not compare the vinyl to cd for this album. And there isn't a cd included in the vinyl package. Keep in mind that this was an analog recording and that Jack White is one of only a few analog pro .......

Although the Hoffman/Gray mastered Rhino reissue sounds very good, I still prefer the original olive green label Warner vinyl. You can find my review comparing the reissue to the original on myvinylre .......

I used one for some time and found it to be pretty good for the price. Once you run out of their fluid, any of the commercial fluids/cleaners can be mixed in with distilled water and will work fine. : .......

Although I don't use orbitrac, I'm in a somewhat similar situation as I use spin-clean. The spin clean fluid is expensive and I don't have much, so on occasion, I use some RRL Deep cleaner someone gav .......

I haven't heard the Simply Vinyls, however, I would recommend the Sundazed Blonde on Blonde mono, which is cheaper. As for Pet Sounds, my Capitol Stereo (digitally mastered) reissue LP sounds better .......

I noticed a difference by upgrading from the built in phono stage of my Marantz 2270 to a Project Tube Box. The greatest improvement came in vocals and jazz, and to a lesser extent in rock. Around $55 .......

After my great experience with Zep II yesterday, I want back and picked up Zep IV on Classic today. Although a good pressing and very quiet vinyl (quieter than Zep II), it didn't have the same impact .......

I have that Capitol stereo Pet Sounds reissue and I must say that I think I like it even better than my mono copy. It is super quiet with a nice open soundstage. My mono copy is the Reprise/Warner pre .......

Amoeba Music (locations in SF, Berkeley and LA) has them for $12.98. Most stores sell them for list, which is $19.98. I know that they are digitally remastered, but I think they sound pretty good for .......

If you have been happy with the overall sound, you could probably just replace the stylus (needle) without replacing the whole cartridge. Assuming it is available, it shouldn't be more than $15-30. :: .......
