Modifying septar sockets for the GM70

Hi DIY dudes

I've got a few Rusky GM70 triodes and some ceramic septar sockets (normally used by the 6C33, 829B, etc). I know NHC Brenners sell proper sockets, but the minimum order is $100 US (and I'm too cheap to pay that), so I thought I'd mod the septars.

Has anyone done this successfully? I've got a dremel tool and a drill press - any suggestions on the art of cermic drilling? Or should I just stop being cheap and buy some proper sockets? BTW - has anyone bought any GM70 sockets from Brenners? What's the quality like?

TIA. Doug
