Hello All,

Last week there was a posting by Thorsten in the High Efficiency Speaker Asylum. It was regarding why he did not like MTM designs, and he provided a link to some information written by Mithat F. Konar.

I responded, a couple of days before the thread scrolled into the old thread section, with a rebuttal in a link of my own. However, I did not correctly post the link so that anyone could simply click on it and read it. So with a little help from Tom (a moderator) I will attempt it again.

I agree that MTM configurations do create considerations to problems that are not present in other designs. But, I also feel that those considerations can be taken into account and an MTM configuration can be easily be built free of the problems in question.

I also Admit that without the tools here at my disposal (Clio measuring system and anechoic chamber) it would be difficult for me to test or maximze any design.

Experience and foreknowledge of the problems of an MTM design would still allow me to build an MTM design as well as any hobbyist even without the "tools of the trade". After all I do have my ears. That's really the most important tool.

So, I am courious, how many of you hobbyist out here have built your own MTM design, and are you happy with it?

Also how many of you have built an MTM design from a kit, and are you happy with it? Specifically are you happy with how it images?

I encourage everyone to visit Thorsten's posting, read the information from Konar, and print it off for reference.

Then read my posted link.

Any comments?
