newbee,If you like the Mackerras cycle (I do too), and if you happen to be looking for another interesting Brahms set (I've got lots -- he's one of my favorite composers), do yourself a favor and check out this STUNNING recording! Chamber Orchestra forces, "Live" recordings (no audience noise though) and SOTA sonics. The sound of the woodwinds, in addition to being somewhat more prominent due to the diminished orchestral forces, is probably the best I've ever heard on CD.
