Philips sacd 1000 tray modification..

For the benefit of those who did not see my post many months ago, the 'extra play'that exists in the disc tray can be easily tamed just by reinforcing the bar. Warning! Do not add too much weight to the bar! It will jam the rotation of the disc.

It is not a big deal to correct. One can experiment carefully with a couple pieces of phenolic material and stick it to the bar. I am keeping it simple and so should you. No warrantee bust with this mod.

Essentially the bar is an improvement over the plastic version the Philips designers had in place on the CD 880 player. I have found that one can optimize the bass and reduce artifacts in this region with this application. Its a 7+ for effectiveness.
