I tried it on the "B" system rig, with the filterless Ack dAck DAC. I figured it may have been a "digital filter" thing (the "pre data" loaded into the filter), and would *not* be apparent on the filter-less DAC. But not the case- the effect is definitely there. The difference is very clear on this DAC.

Using the "pause" does sound better than merely using the "skip" function alone. I was playing Dvorak's 8th Symphony, and the massed cellos at the start of the work sounded more timbrally "right" using the "pause"... I noticed a *striking* improvement in soundstage size and "air," as well as dynamic scale. The instruments themselves having more of the characteristic tone. (Sensing the "wood" in the violins...)

Using the "skip" functions alone has an effect somewhere between using the "pause" function and just playing a track by merely accessing it.
