The new PS Audio HCA-2 stereophile review

I just finished reading the Stereophile review of the HCA-2 amp.
One of two issues ago Sam Tellig gave it a very glowing review
I believe. (Didnt he use to post here?). And it was utterly hastely
catapulted as a Class A amp, even without a full review.

This all sounds really good.

The review in this months issue is also very positive, almost too
positive, I mean most audio equipment has its drawbacks.

What I thought was somewhat alarming was that the messurment
test/sidebar/review by John Atkinson was pretty dang negative.
Among the more negative reviews I have read lately.

Now, I do not find it inconcievable that a unit can messure
bad, but sound really good. (Perhaps some tube stuff messure
with more 'errors' than digial stuff) but it still suprised me
and at least for now put me off buying it (no local retailer
where I am) until a consensus can form at least within Stereophile.

Personally I find the stated dynamics and transparancy very
tempting, but I do ..... have problems believing that an amp
that switches on and off (at a really high frequency) is really
the way to go.

Anyways what do you all think?
