for the John Wright Modified Melior Bitstream Dac

My Bitstream DAC broke after many years of service , and I wanted to get it fixed.
I am currently using B&W Matrix 801's , and they are most revealing of source .
I really missed my smooth Bitstream DAC , but who was I going to get to fix it since Musatex was gone ?
I did a web search, and found John Wright at www.Museatex.com , and he used to work for Ed Meitner.
He told me he could fix my Bitstream dac , but also told that he could update it as well.
I decided to do it.
I have not been sorry !
It hasnt even been 3 weeks yet , and it keeps getting better and better.
The 801's metal tweeter wont hide harshness , and this dac dont even have a hint of harshness.
It is becoming more and more 3 dimensional each day.
Its bass is tight and powerful.
It is almost romantic sounding, especially good on female voice /
Paula Cole and Stevie Nicks sound wonderful , and Neil Diamond has the richness and power in his voice that he should have.
My system at this moment is the Matrix 801's , powered by Audire Monoblocks , basically baby Audire Monarch's .
Just for shits and gigles , I unhooked the John Wright modified Bitstream Dac , and substituted another well known DAC.
YUK !
For those of you that have a truly revealing system where the very best DAC is a must , but perhaps dont care to spend thousands of dollars , I suggest you find a Bitstream Dac used , and send it off to John.
He gets 350 dollars for the mod , and its worth every penny.
I am totally satisfied , and I am a fussy , impossible to please Audiophile.

Product Weakness: perhaps a bit too much gain for some preamps ?
Product Strengths: Smooth , 3 dimensional , grain and fatigue free , inexpensive , female voice , romantic , punchy bass , lack of transistor sound
