Silver is a totally different material compared to copper even though both are acknowledged to be the very best conductors of electricity. Aside from their electrical differences, silver has different mechanical properties, different resonance characteristics, has different crystalline structures, and its exposure to air results to different contaminants as well. (the foremost difference of silver oxide to copper oxide for instance is that silver oxide is conductive ... although silver oxide does sound closer to copper than silver!)
