I've never been a believer in expensive hi-fi cables until last weekend when I got a dirt-cheap pair of Nordost Black Knight interconnects second-hand. Once home, they substituted Tandy Gold Patch cables between my Quad 77 CD and amp, which feed AudioNote AN-K speakers (with unbranded silver cables).

Whoa! The improvement in detail and clarity just floored me! It was almost like listening to a whole new, more expensive system!

Now I'm hungry for more, and speaker cables are next. I understand the synergy of keeping to the same manufacturer, but then I also do not want to overdo things, as the Black Knights seem to err towards the brighter side. I prefer my music to have a dark and solid (yet detailed) character.
