Thanks for the insight. I found a great web site calculator for determing the voltage output for a given input and dB gain. I looked up the AI M3A's input overload figures and it's listed at 9 volts. I figure to keep my current cartridge and to get the input for the PH5 to a reasonable level I will need to drop the the gan down to 37.5 dB with the help of some Rothwell Attenuators if I can locate some. If not I will need to pick up a cart. in the 0.5-1.2 mV range. Thanks for your help.
