I used to sell pure metals to the government for aircraft like stealth fighters and bombers and high performance helocopters.A cubic foot of pure aluminum weighs almost 17% more than a cubic foot of titanium.
A titanium hydraulic fitting for an aircraft is stronger than its steel counterpart. That is why we use titanium for hydraulic fittings. If steel were stronger we would use that.
So go back to the books and see where you made your mistakes.
