Shure V15VxMR versus Dynavector DRT XV-1: Some measurements...

Here are some interesting comparisons between my Shure V15VxMR moving magnet and my Dynavector DRT XV-1 moving coil. First are some frequency response curves. The same test record was used for both cartridges and it was recorded at high resolution 24/96 digital for transfer to my computer to be analyzed using Sound Forge.

Next come some harmonic distortion measurements. The Shure seems to produce less than half the amount of harmonic distortion that the Dynavector produces on the very same track of the very same test record.

I just started a picture gallery here in the Asylum, so all these graphs are in my gallery. I plan to add a lot more to the gallery in the near future.

Best regards,
John Elison
