Vinyl Asylum Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ. |

The last time I heard this was on a Sony PSX 50 with a Grace F9 Ruby, unbelievable. That was 10+ years ago and both are sadly gone, but I still have the record. After 75 hours on the AT120e it was time to try again. Using the "optimal" VTF of 1.4g it skipped over 25% of the cannon shots. But at 1.75g success! Not a skip and it seems to track fine. The max the literature indicates is 1.8g. Am I in danger of shortening the life of the stytlus or suspension?
Now musically this isn't my fave, I prefer the Bernstein/NY Phil to this performance, but sonically, it rattles the walls.
Another question - does this indicate that the higher VTF is better overall with my particular setup? HK ST-7 & lobotomized Rabco.
Thanks for bending your "ears"
