Could anyone give me a simple primer on this topic? I'm primarily interested in how one can tell how a particular receiver is coupled by looking at the mfrs. specs. What specs or terminology would you look for to be able to determine which method of coupling your particular receiver employs? For instance, I have read here that my Marantz 2230 is capacitively coupled, but what about my Pioneer SX-750? I have manuals for both, but given my obvious limited electronics knowledge, I can't determine by looking at the specs.
Also, a basic explanation of damping factor and how to use the numbers (which are generally stated) would be appreciated.
The object of this lesson for me is to gain better enlightenment in speaker selection.
Thanks,
Ed
