Hi:

I just put in a separate power transformer for the analogue part of my marantz cd 63se. The added tranny is a bit bigger physically than the original one. It has 17.4 V x 2 for the secondary (manual specifies 17.6 V). I had already moved the original tranny out to a separate box.

The effect of the mod is the most dramatic of the mods I have done on this player (Bobwire, Thorsten, David Stanten). It sounds like a different and much better player. More bloom, more ambience, more bass, more resolution, more details, greater dynamics, less noise, less grain, less fatique, a sense of ease and music floating on a wider and deeper stage.

I am not saying that the mod alone is responsible for all the improvement. It may be bringing out the cumulative effect of all the mods.

I am not conveying my excitement very well, but for this $6.95 (from gateway electronics in San Diego) mod, I am happy beyond description. I may hold on to my cdp a bit longer!
