Hi All,
Car batteries or forklift laead acid batteries can produce, especially when overcharged, a highly EXPLOSIVE mixture of hydrogen and oxygen gas, not toxic when inhaled.
Best to leave the batteries in open air.
Sealed sludge lead acid batteries seem not to have this bad habit.
Please do not blow up your listening room with a loud bang.!.
