Since you seem to have so much more energy than I do these days, try the performance of SRPP with and without a bypass cap for Rk of the lower tube. In the case where you don't bypass Rk in the SRPP, then Rk2 (the cathode resistor for the UPPER tube) is related to Rk1 (Rk for the lower tube) by the formula: Rk2 = Rk1(mu+1/mu-1). I built my SRPP input voltage amp using a single 6SN7 and set Rk1 = 1K ohms, then Rk2 = ~1.1K ohms. With about 250V across the whole circuit, input Vg = -3 (all from memory; I could be slightly wrong on these voltages). I would love to learn whether there really IS a demonstrable performance advantage if you leave out the bypass cap and re-adjust the value of Rk2 according to the equation. My amps sound very sweet and at the same time linear and detailed.
