I believe the consensus is that for the 12AU7, you should try the Philips or Tungsram E80CC. Hard to find tubes, and the gain is a bit higher than a standard 12AU7, but the tone is supposedly very natural sounding. Do a search on E80CC in both tube asylum and, believe it or not, digital asylum--there were a number of posts awhile back on using the Tungsram E80CC in place of the stock 12AU7 in the Audio Note DAC Kit 1.1.12AT7s, can't help you on those, do a search at Duncan Amps for available substitutes, and then search tube asylum on the mentioned tube types. Damn near every line-level tube under the sun has been discussed at this point at one time or another on this board.
Any particular reason why you're still running MkI versions of the A-S M60s?
